Application of the eccentrically welded joints is usual practice in construction of lattice bearing structures where necessary to provide a common enveloping surface both for the structural members and facade or finishing surfaces. In these cases, designers are forced to shift brace members which has, as a rule, smaller sizes from centerlines of chord members. Other type of the eccentricity in connection belongs to the end panels of bridge or roof trusses where end brace member, as a rule oriented vertically, is attached directly to the tip end of the chord. In that regard, the types of joints that are examined herein are divided on two main groups depicted schematically in Table 1. The specific connection geometry can be described by connection dimensions (chord width, b0, branch width, b1, etc.), but the geometry is typically presented using non-dimensional parameters (β, μ0, μ1, γ) that can be easily compared regardless of connection scale.
