Mechanické vlastnosti transparentních lepených spojů s vlivem stárnutí
Original language description
Despite the material properties, glass has an irreplaceable place in contemporary architecture, apart from fillings transparent load-bearing structural elements, such as beams or columns, are designed. Traditional mechanical fasteners are usually used for the connection of glass plates, but they have a number of disadvantages, in particular local stress peaks near the bolt holes. Therefore, there is an effort to replace them with adhesive joints, which offer a more uniform stress distribution along the connection and a number of other advantages. Lack of knowledge about adhesive joints in construction prevents their wider use. This paper is focus on the mechanical properties of transparent adhesive connections of glass structures. One epoxy adhesive was selected for three sets of double-lap shear joints of small-scale test specimens. Two sets were subjected to different artificial ageing methods and one set was used as a reference. The adhesive showed very good resistance to ageing.
