On development of CO2 concentration in the office environment in Czechia

  • Original language description

The article studies the daily development of CO2 concentration in the office, points to the non-standard development of CO2 concentration due to the behaviour of individual room users. The concentration was measured for 5 working days, the concentration results were recorded in 15 second cycles. The article points out the percentage of time when the concentration is typically higher than 800 ppm and there is a risk of sick building syndrome and when the concentration is higher than 600 ppm and there is a risk of cognitive impairment. Based on the measurements, it was found that the measured room in 61.5% of the time had a CO2 concentration in the range of 600 - 800 ppm, while in 40.9% of the time it was occupied by only 2 workers. The article also points out the trends of users to use natural ventilation more often in the afternoon when the CO2 concentration reaches 700 ppm.
