INFLUENCE OF PROPERTY AND FACILITY MANAGEMENT ON BUILDING SUSTAINABILITY
Original language description
The operational stage is the longest one in a building life cycle, and it has a substantial impact on the overall building sustainability. Many sustainability factors are already determined in the design and construction stage of the building. However, the management of the building can still influence the building performance and contribute to its sustainable operations. This article reviews current scientific research relevant to the property and facility management of a building during its operations. It assesses the influence of the building management on the building sustainability in all three pillars: environmental, economic, and social.
