Noise generated from crossing vehicles over expansion joints causes environmental problemb in urba areas. The current growth of traffic intensity together with expansion of cities is requiring evergreated demand for tackling anti-noise solution. The objective of this study is to understand mechanism of noise generation from expansion joints and present the uniform methodology for assesment the expansion joins in terms of noise. Study is focused on numerical modelling of expansion joints in combination with experimental measurements on current bridges.
