    The paper deals with the issue of Rayleigh waves in relation to the planned operation of high-speed trains in the Czech Republic. The paper presents a brief introduction to the issue of vibrations and various types of waves that arise when running a train. Furthermore, the paper deals with Rayleigh waves, which is evaluated as one of the important components of vibration in terms of traffic safety and impacts on the railway line. The next part of the paper presents the knowledge gained so far.
