Varibility of surface runoff processes at plot, field block and catchment scales

  • Original language description

Research on rainfall-runoff and subsequent sediment transport processes is often based on observing these processes at several scales. This contribution presents the use of a combination of data obtained by different approaches at multiple scales (a) runoff generated by simulated rainfall on plots (b) runoff response to natural rainfall events obtained from long- term monitoring plots. (c) rills runoff obtained using remote sensing methods on a eld plot with an area of tens ha. Rills formation during heavy rainfalls are used as validation parameter of concentrated form of runoff.. (d) small catchment runoff in stream. The concept of model validation presented here uses datasets at different scales to study the surface runoff and erosion processes on the Býkovice agricultural catchment in Czech Republic. Two principals of models are used for response validation. SMODERP2D - episodic hydrological-erosion process based model and wide used conceptual SCS-CN model.
