Original language description
This paper is focused on the accuracy of volume takeoff of BIM elements after they are transferred using the IFC standard. Eight examples of different building structures, from simple as a curved wall to more complicated ones such as torus, are presented. Volume takeoff of the elements is taken in multiple stages of data transfer. It is shown that the 3D geometry is changed when using the IFC standard. The differences in values taken in the native BIM authoring tool and IFC viewer are presented in tables.
