The influence of the naphthalene plasticizer on the rheology properties of cement paste

  • Original language description

The current concrete industry is closely related on the massive use of various chemical admixtures, which significantly modify the properties of fresh and hardened concrete. The plasticizers have crucial sense for the production of concrete structures. This paper is dealing with the study of rheology properties of Portland cement paste with an increasing dosage of naphthalene plasticizer. The experimental study was focused on the systematic description of the rheology properties in terms of shear stress and viscosity. The data obtained were expressed by a pseudoplastic model, which exhibited the best fit. The results confirmed essential influence of the studied plasticizer on the rheology properties of fresh pastes. Both studied parameters, thus consistency coefficient and power index, increased with a rising dosage of the studied plasticizer.
