    The steam generator in nuclear power plant is designed in such a way that it physically separates the primary circuit that contains radioactive substances from the secondary circuit, which no longer contains them. The steam generator is a category 1 device, and therefore, it is required to minimize its breakdowns. Therefore, a device care strategy is chosen that ensures high reliability, i.e. minimizes the occurrence of failures and does not tolerate functional failures between established maintenance cycles. For economic reasons, the preventive maintenance program is controlled by the maintenance of the items that contribute most to the failure of the steam generator.
