Original language description
This paper focuses on the possibilities of improving properties of binders based on power plant calcium-sulphate fly ash. The production of these energy by-products is in millions of tonnes per year and mere storage is not a sustainable solution. Alkaline activation of aluminosilicate substances is a complex process, the biggest consequences for concrete are f.e.: acceleration of hydration and formation of new hydration phases. Mortar used in this work is based on limestone-fly ash mixture called SORFIX. This mixture shows some satisfactory results so far, even without any alkali activation. As an alkalic activator the Sodium water glass was used. Optimal water to binder ratios were researched with reference to nonactivated mixture.
