    EPOXY ANCHORING IN UHPC STRUCTURES

  • Original language description

Connecting UHPC (ultra high performance concrete) structures using wet joints is not very appropriate. The smooth microstructure of the surface does not allow an effective connection of the structures. In order to achieve the desired effect, it is advisable to use a formwork matrix to roughen the surface and apply a prestressing to the joint area. It is also advisable to produce entire structure or segment rather than in stages. As with conventional concrete constructions, the joint is a risky place for potential failure. One option to improve the structural performance of the joint is to use reinforcement across the joint. This is often technologically challenging and therefore anchoring of reinforcement is possible option. This research is aimed to compare the forces required to pull out the threaded rod from UHPC plate. UHPC structures are often thin shells, therefore the anchorage depth was limited to 50 mm. Comparison was made on differently anchored M14 threaded rods. Three arrangements were compared: - Threaded rod in UHPC - Threaded rod with nut in UHPC - Threaded rod with epoxy anchor in UHPC
