The objective of the meeting was to establish the principles of a global initiative for collection and curation of signal level data from commercial microwave links (CMLs) and their utilization in hydrometeorology and telecommunication. The meeting involved stakeholders from industry (mobile network operators and CML vendors), the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), the national meteorological services, the WMO, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and researchers from academia.
