Decision-Making Model for Sustainable Solutions in Buildings Based on Environmental, Economic, and Social Criteria

  • Original language description

Real estate developers are facing stronger pressure each year to design their development projects in line with sustainability criteria which are coming from different frameworks and stakeholders. However, the developers have to balance the investment to sustainable solutions and technologies with economical possibilities of the project. This research paper presents a multicriterial decision-making model which evaluates the bene?its of individual sustainable technologies and solutions according economic, environmental, and social aspects. The model provides data about each sustainable solution such as mitigation impact, adaptation impact, social impact, payback period, etc. The deterministic model compares the solutions based on sustainability impact and cost to provide the basis for quali?ied decision-making to real estate developers in the design phase of the project. The model has been tested on a case study of a real estate development project in Czechia.
