Atomistic Simulation of Ductile versus Brittle Behaviour of Cracks in BCC Iron
Original language description
Molecular dynamic technique has been used to study the kinetics of microscopic processes under plane strain conditions.Newtonian equations of motion for individual atoms have been solved by a central difference method.Time integration step 0,01 ps was chosen to secure numerical stability in the systém. In the case of orientation (-110)[110] was observed most frequently emission of complete edge dislocations from the crack tip in the slip system <111>{112},causing crack blunting and crack stability
