    The application of hard coatings on very thin or pointed substrates causes difficulties. The reasons are the inhomogeneous distribution of thickness and high value of internal stress resulting in the coating peeling off. The coatings characters investigated after the deposition were the coatings thickness, morphology and the coating-substrate cohesion.
