Turbulent Stress in Unsteady Fluid Flow
Original language description
The aim of the research was to deepen the knowledge of effect of pipe geometry, Reynolds number of the mean flow , the Womersley number * and flow ratio * on origination and development of the Reynolds normal stress. Results that were obtained will be used in technical practise and biomechanics. Pulsate velocity profiles were measured with a laser-Doppler anemometer. The assemble-average velocity profiles, fluctuating component of velocity and the Reynolds normal stress have been evaluated. From the normal turbulent stress we can calculate Reynolds tangential stress, which causes hydraulic loss in the tubes. In biomechanics the Reynolds tangential stress has a great importance for possible destruction of blood elements and damage of surface of blood arteries.
