Contact stress in the human hip is an important factor in development of the coxarthrosis. Direct measurement of the contact stress is complicated and therefore several mathematical models were introduced. Results of the direct measurement by an implanted instrumented edoprothesis are compared to the results of three-dimensional mathematical model within this article.
