Original language description
The article deals with the numerical solution of transonic flows by the modern finite volume methods. A short review of the available theoretical results for simplified problems is given at the beginning. Next, the family of TVD and TVD-like schemes is described and several theoretical results concerning the convergence of the numerical approximation to a weak solution are mentioned. Last section of the article presents some numerical results obtained for academical as well as real problems such as 2D/3D flows in channels and turbine cascades.
