The Feasibility of Precise Forging

Original language description

This paper discusses the basic factors influencing near-net shape forging. The basic problem is how to eliminate the influence of excess material. Three basic solutions how to accommodate this excess material are discussed: 1. Part of forging remains unfilled within the approved dimensional tolerances. 2. Using so called internal flash. 3. Part of forging can increase its dimensions. To solve this problem the original die holder with the special load-limiting device was designed and produced.
