Thermodynamic Features of Lean-Burn Gas Engine with Variable Charge Temperature
Original language description
The paper refers about results of laboratory investigation of thermodynamic and environmental parameters of a turbocharged spark ignition gas engine with variable charge temperature. The lean-burn cogeneration-plant engine fuelled by natural gas is takeninto account. The aim is to find a compromise between charge air temperature low enough for both NOx emission or knocking limit and high enough from the point of view of waste heat utilization and combustion stability. The temperature of working fluid in intake manifold was adjusted together with other operational parameters in a wide range during experiments with respect to current and prospective law regulation limits of nitrogen oxides in exhaust. Detailed thermodynamic analysis of combustion has been carried out.
