Emission Potentials of Hydrogen Engine
Original language description
The paper deals with the application of advanced simulation tools to modeling of properties of working cycle of hydrogen fueled engines. Two models of different level have been used. 0-D/1-D code GT-Power has been used to perform sensitivity analysis ofinfluence of air excess, spark timing and compression ratio on main engine parameters and NO formation analysis. CFD model developed by the authors has been employed to detailed simulation of in-cylinder phenomena during combustion including chemical kinetics. Results giving practical clues concerning possible engine setting to avoid NO formation are presented. Comparisons with experiments are shown.
