Original language description
Urinary incontinence is a symptom of various pathological dispositions. For improvement of closing mechanism of the pelvis muscles it is possible to use physical training. A Perineometer is an instrument, which is used for training of contraction. In ourlaboratory was developed a new type of this testing instrument. It was designed persuant to flexible pressure sensor that was developed at our university too. It uses a special flexible elastomer, which electrical resistance is dependent on its compression. The main part of the perineometer is a pressure sensor. There are two versions of this device. The first is simply and user friendly for patients and the second one is more complex, linked to PC and is determined for physicians. This instrument is used not only for training of Kegel's contraction, but also for making the whole therapy more objective and it also helps patients better recognize their muscles.
