Independent Component Analysis and Its Applications

  • Original language description

Independent Component Analysis (ICA) is technique for separating mixtures of source signals into their individual components. This rapidly evolving technique is currently finding applications in speech separation, ECG, EEG, MEG or face recognition. Its power resides in the simple and realistic assumption that different physical process tend to generate statistically independent signals. In the first part of the survey we briefly provide mathematical background and in the second part we will explore themethod usefulness on several real-life applications.
