    Applications of Composites Based on Glass Fibers in Human Biomechanics

    The computer system for determination of quantitative musculoskeletal geometry from computer tomography (CT) images has been developed. The computer systém processes series of CT images to obtain three-dimensional model of bony structures where the effective muscle fibres can be interactively defined. Presented computer system has flexible modular structure and is therefore suitable also for educational purposes.

    Skelná vlákna jsou nejčastěji používanou výstuží polymerních kompozitních materiálů, mají dobé mechanické vlastnosti, jsou chemicky odolné a mají nízkou cenu. V našem projektu jsme se zaměřili na výrobu kompozitů na bázi skla a siloxanové matrice, testovali jsme jejich mechanické a biologické vlastnosti.
