Numerical Solution of Transonic Flow over an Airfoil

Result description

The purpose of this article is to show the numerical solution of the inviscid flow over a profile NACA0012 placed in a free space and over a profile DCA 18 placed in a channel considering subsonic as well as transonic regimes. The Euler equations for twodimensional case are solved using the finite volume method and Lax-Wendroff scheme in its MacCormack form with Jameson's artifficial dissipation. The numerical results achieved by this method show some typical properties of the 2nd order schemes.

    Tento článek prezentuje numerické řešení obtékání profilu NACA 0012 ve volném proudu a profilu DCA 18 v kanále. Jsou přitom uvažovány jak subsonické, tak transsonické režimy. Dvourozměrné Eulerovy rovnice jsou řešeny metodou konečných objemů Laxovým-Wendroffovým schématem v MacCormackově variantě s Jamessonovou umělou vazkostí. Numerické výsledky dokumentují některé problémy typické pro schémata druhého řádu.
