Sources of Noise-Thermostatic Valves
Original language description
The control of the performance of heating radiators is performed by regulating the flow of heating water. The main topic of the present paper is an analysis of the behaviour of selected variant of thermostatic valves. By fitting a thermostatic valve at the entry to a heating radiator the process of regulation of the flow of water is accompanied by an increase of local losses, occurrence of cavitations and subsequent production of noise and its transfer to the heating radiator. The paper analyses noise propagating from thermostatic control valves by vibrations and turbulent heating water flow. The aim was to monitor the behaviour of elements comprising the sastem and to suggest the most appropriate alternative of the design of heating systems with regard to the suppression of undesirable noise.
