On Finite Element Method Application in Computational Aeroelasticity
Original language description
In this paper we are interested in the interaction of two dimensional incompressible viscous laminar flow and a solid airfoil. The airfoil can rotate and oscillate in vertical direction. In order to take the grid motion into account the Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian formulation of the Navier-Stokes system of equation is used. We discuss the GLS stabilization of the FEM, evaluation of forces acting on the profile, time discretization and the solution of the discrete problem. The obtained results are compared with available data.
