Microstructure and Mechanical Characteristic of Intervertebral Disc and Annulus Fibrosus
Original language description
he microstructure and the mechanical responses of Annulus fibrosus (AF) were investigated in this study. We verified the views of AF as a poroelastic material and as a composite or laminate structure. The luminescent microscopy approved the great effortin digital imaging and revealed the IVD structure as a system of lamellae merged into the proteoglycan matrix. Each lamella is made of angle-ply material containing collagen micro-fibrils. Rectangular porcine specimens of annulus fibrosus oriented in thecircumferential direction underwent to three types of mechanical loading. The first was the ultimate tensile stress with different load rates - 3mm/s, 9mm/s, 15mm/s. We compared the ultimate strength and the Young modulus E.
Czech name
Mikrostruktura a mechanická charakteristika meziobratlového disku a anulu fibrosu
Czech description
Mikrostruktura meziobratlového disku byla zkoumána pomocí luminiscenční mikroskopií. Anulus fibrosus byl pak podroben tahovým zkouškám pro získání mechanických vlastností tkáně.
