Original language description

The contribution deals with the degradation of two kinds of polymers, namely PC and HIPS. These polymers were submitted to impact test using high rates on the instrumented Charpy hammer with maximum impact energy of 7.5 J (weight of 1.096kg), maximum impact rate of 3.7 m/s and the distance of the supports of 60mm. The strain of the polymers was scanned using video-extensometry method using CCD camera. The aim of this work was to assign the possibilities of instrumented hammer and video-extensometry method in the process of evaluating of the local mechanical strain processes in the polymers.
