Original language description
Although titanium alloys are difficult-to-cut materials, it is very actual to design products made of these materials today, because most of these materials have very useful physical, mechanical and chemical properties such as a low density, high tensilestrength, yield point or corrosion resistance. On the other hand, cutting of titanium alloys is very complicated process due to low thermal conductivity, low coefficient of elasticity and a hexagonal close packed lattice, mainly. Thus, high wearing intensity of a cutting tool and a high specific force occurs. It is recommended used relatively small cutting speeds and feeds in cutting of titanium alloys.
