. This paper presents basic principles of touchscreens, mainly the 4 wire resistive type and then presents description of a universal process controller developed at the Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of mechanical engineering. The universal controller with touchscreen allows the user to operate the device with more simplicity and comfort. The controller is supposed to be used by students during the laboratory exercises of automatic control as an example of a simple controller. Another supposed usage is in small private breweries or other applications requiring small number of inputs and outputs.
