Result description
The effect of vessel size onto flocculation kinetics of clay slurry was investigated in three baffled tanks of diameter 0.15-, 0.20- and 0.30 m agitated by Rushton turbine. Based on literature review and our previously published results the scale up criteria for flocculation were formulated. The proposed scale-up rules were successfully verified experimentally. It was found the flocculation efficiency for vessels of diameter 0.20- and 0.30 m practically same, for D = 0.15 m the efficiency is slightly lower, probably due to various hydrodynamic conditions in the impeller region.

Czech description
Vliv velikosti nádoby na kinetiku flokulace byl studován ve třech nádobách o průměru 0,15 -, 0,20- a 0,30 m míchaných Rushtonovou turbínou. Na základě literatury a našich dříve publikovaných výsledků byly formulovány pravidla pro zvětšování měřítka pro flokulaci. Navržená pravidla byla úspěšně ověřena experimentálně. Bylo zjištěno, že učinnost flokulace v nádobách o velikosti 0,20 a 0,30 m byla prakticky stejná, v nádobě 0,15 m slabě nižší, pravděpodobně díky různým hydrodynamickým podmínkám v oblasti míchadla.
