    Numerical Simulation of Turbulent Flows through a 2D Turbine Cascade

  • Original language description

    The work deals with numerical solution of two-dimensional compressible turbulent flows in turbine cascades. Two different geometries are considered. The simulations include subsonic as well as transonic regimes. The turbulence is modeled using algebraic,one-equation, two-equation and explicit algebraic Reynolds stress model. The discretization uses mainly Roe and AUSM finite volume schemes with higher order upwind interpolation for convective terms. The finite volume grids consist of quadrilateral finite volumes. The numerical results are compared with experimental results in terms of flow-field pattern (shock waves), pressure distribution on blade surface and in of energy loss coefficient. Whereas the former two parameters are predicted well, the loss coefficient presents a parameter difficult to predict.
