    Problems of the low interlaminar strength of unidirectional thick composite parts were solved by application of three dimensional fibre cell structure. Both experimental and FEM analysis of typical representative volume elements of the real composite boxbeam structure were investigated. Parametric studies of the transverse layer thickness and its winding angle on mechanical properties were made.
