Flexural strength and modulus of nanofilled and low-shrinkage dental restorative composites: Three-point bending test.
Original language description
Most common failure of dental composite filler was caused by restoration fracture and secondary caries. The reasons of failure under occlusal load were attributed to the high stress at the toothrestoration interface. The cavity shape could influence themagnitude of the interfacial stress. Using finite element program cavity design could be solved through the cavity shape optimization analysis that required exact material properties. In this study, flexural strength and flexural modulus of two composites (FiltekTM Silorane and FiltekTM Superme XT) were determined by three-point bending test.
