Computation of 2D Flows in Atmospheric Boundary Layer
Original language description
The article deals with the numerical solution of the 2D incompressible laminar flows over the "sinus hills" for Reynold's number 10^7 and turbulent stratified flows in atmospheric boundary layer over the same geometry with Reynolds numbers 10^8 and 5x10^8. Mathematical model for the 2D laminar flows is the system of Navier-Stokes equations for incompressible laminar flow. Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes equations (RANS) for incompressible turbulent flow with addition of the equation of density change (Bousinesq model) have been used as a mathematical model for stratified flows in atmospheric boundary layer. The artificial compressibility method together with the finite volume method has been used as discretization method in all solved cases.
