Emergent Innovation in The Conceptual Design Process
Original language description
The phenomenon of an emergent innovation Synthesis in the Conceptual Design Process and formal (software) support for it are discussed in this paper. The field of Conceptual Design is supposed to be decomposed (according to type of the designed systems)into three classes: Conceptual design of: A. systems, B. Technological components, machines and devices and C. Configurations. The proposed method is situated in the conceptual redesign process for problems from class B. In the method we use: context conceptualization of knowledge (local, global and problem contexts), matroid theory and a special ontology. As a complementary tool for emergent computing there is used the Degree of Emergence (which measures the "distance" between known and novel solutions).
