Aiming at Stress-Based Critical Plane Multiaxial Method for Finite Life Calculation

Result description

A new multiaxial fatigue life computation method is presented. The new PCF method is derived from the PCr method focused on evaluation of the local load state in comparison to a fatigue limit. PCF uses three S-N curves for the prediction. The new methodis checked with experimental data on three different steels. Its inclusion of the mean stress effect is validated successfully. As regards the search for an adequate way of a decomposition to separate cycles, the selected proposal to use the normal stress on the examined plane as the decisive parameter did not stand the test.
