Original language description
The paper describes use of the Hilbert-Huang Transform in order to diagnose the cutter tool wear and cutter tool breakage. The non-linearity and non-stationarity of the cutting process is taken into account. The presentation of the data is possible in frequency domain as well as in time-frequency domain which takes an advantage to the commonly used Fourier transform. The cutter tool breakage as well as cutter tool wear is obvious in both Hilbert spectra and Hilbert marginal spectra
