Properties of the Spindle and Machine Frame Coupled System
Result description
On the example of a real machine tool, influence of the machine frame on the dynamic properties of spindle and tool is investigated. Model of the whole mechanical system is created as a coupled system of the separate models of spindle and machine frame.Verification of the model by means of measurements has shown good concordance in the determination of critical frequencies and compliances of the system. It has been proved, that for compact tools machine frame properties limit the achievable dynamics atthe tool tip.
