Properties of agricultural fuels for fluidized bed combustion
Original language description
This contribution discusses the most important propeties of alternative biofuels of agricultural origin, which are crucial for successful fluidized bed combustion. Attention is given mainly to ash properties and composition, supported by data from analyses of various kinds of such biofuels. There is discussed variability of similar biofuel properties in different locations and general lack of uniform standardization of biofuels. In the text is given example of successful and unsuccessful combustion of agricultural biofuel in a FBC boiler and discusses possibility of co-firing. In the end is presented prospective middle-power BFBC boiler designed for biofuel application.
