    Physical object identification is a field of high interest for many. In some sense every area of a human activity deals with identifying of physical objects. The domain of physical object identification is also a topic of scientific research. In this paper we present the overview of current state-of-the-art approaches to object identification and specific implementation of a physical object identification system based on the object surface structure.
