    Numerical Solution of Compressible Turbulent Flow over an Airfoil

    This article presents the numerical solution of subsonic and transonic turbulent flows over an airfoil RAE 2822. Turbulent flow is modelled by the system of Favre averaged Navier-Stokes equations combined with three different models of turbulence based on k-omega equations. Numerical solution is based on the finite volume method. Inviscid numerical flux is approximated by HLLC Riemann solver with piecewise linear WENO reconstruction. Viscous fluxes are approximated by central differencing with aid of the dual mesh. For time integration is used explicit twostage TVD Runge-Kutta method with point implicit treatment of source terms. The results are obtained for the one subsonic and two transonic cases of the flow.
