Original language description
This article deals with experimental evaluation biomaterials used in orthopaedics for joint replacement. The evaluation is based on very specific wear resistance testing. This type of testing is very important for comparison of different biomaterials andtheir modifications. The special wear resistance tests, called "Ring On Disc", were carried out with new combination of biomaterials - PolyarylEtherEtherKetone against DLC coat on Ti6Al4V alloy on Ti or Cr interlayer. The experiment results are comparedwith other combinations of biomaterials. The experiments were executed according to ISO 6474 in collaboration with companies MEDIN ORTHOPAEDICS and PROSPON.
