Modification and Non-standard Methods of Increasing Tooth Flank Resistance of Gears.
Original language description
This article describes the research of experimental verification of methods for non-standard increasing operational life depending on tooth flank damage (pitting) of case-hardened gearwheels, the complex calculation method and the results of optimizationgears with help of finite element method (FEM). The final optimal shape is achieved by longitudinal, transversal and angular modifications. Furthermore describes developed experimental stand and these tested methods of surfacing: Ion Beam Assisted Deposition (IBAD). Application of the IBAD method (Ion Beam Assisted Deposition) is another original way to increase the lifetime of gear. The TiN and CrN layers are applied on a surface of the carbonized and hardened gear tooth flank.
