Hysitron TriboindenterTM TI950 system has been used for studying the viscoelastic properties of bovine intervertebral disc's end plate (EP) by means of nanoscale mechanical dynamic analysis (nanoDMA). NanoDMA offers several testing modes in which is a harmonic function prescribed to the indentation force P(t)=P0sin?t. The resultant displacement amplitude [nm] and phase shift are measured. Then the storage (E') and loss (E'') moduli can be calculated as well as their ratio tan? and complex modulus (E*).These parameters provide the viscoelastic description of our tissue. NanoDMA experimental data were used for Abaqus material card creation and were employed to the mathematical simulation of nanoDMA experiment.
