Numerical Simulation of the Stratified Flows over the Sinusoidal Hill

Result description

The article deals with the numerical simulation of the stratified incompressible flows. The mathematical model is based on the Boussinesq approximation of the Navier-Stokes equations. The flow field over the sinusoidal hill is modeled for wide range of Richardson numbers. The resulting set of PDE is then solved by a second order finite volume AUSM MUSCL scheme. The scheme is combined with the artificial compressibility method in dual time. In the dual time the three-stage Runge-Kutta method is used.
