On the Numerical Validation Study of Stratified Flow over 2D - Hill Test Case

  • Original language description

The paper deals with flow validation study performed using our in-house 3D-code which implements mathematical and numerical model capable to compute stratified atmospheric boundary layer flows over hills or terrain obstacles. The objectives of the paperare at first to formulate the applied mathematical/numerical model and at second to present some results from the validation study of thermally stratified flow over an isolated 2D-hill test case. The mathematical model is based on system of RANS equations closed by a two-equation high Reynolds number k-epsilon turbulence model. The finite volume method and the explicit Runge-Kutta time integration method are utilized for numerical procedure.
