    Simulation of Composite Tubes Subjected to Compressive Loading

  • Original language description

    Results of experiments and simulations of composite tubes are presented in this paper. Several load cases are studied: three points bending, side compression, longitudinal compression and longitudinal compression with delamination. There are several approaches that were used to model the tube in Abaqus, such as: single shell model, multiple shells with cohesive layers between them and multiple shells divided on stripes with cohesive layers. Also different types of shell elements were used: conventionalshell and continuum shell elements.
